Terms and Conditions

 

  • All sessions are staffed by appropriately by qualified staff in accordance with Scottish Canoe Association and Mountain Training. Whilst every reasonable attempt will be made to deliver sessions, I reserve the right to cancel or modify a session due to safety considerations or other factors beyond my control.

  • Hillwalking, canoeing, kayaking, Paddleboards and rescue training are all potentially dangerous activities. I will keep risks to a minimum however participants need to be aware of the risks associated with these activities. Whilst I have an excellent safety record, participants should be aware that I will only accept responsibility for illness or injury incurred during an activity if there has been negligence on my part or by a person employed or appointed by me.

  • I accept no liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to property, however caused, whilst on a course or activity organised by me.

  • All participants should be fit enough for the session that they are undertaking.

  • Participants should not consume intoxicants prior to or whilst taking part in a session. I reserve the right to exclude any person who I consider may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • I may require any participant to leave the session if that person acts in any such manner as to endanger him/herself or any other person.

  • All clothing and equipment should be suitable for the intended use and may be checked by the organiser.

  • I will be able to arrange for the use of equipment such as canoes, kayaks or paddleboards. If you are using equipment provided by me then damage or loss to any equipment caused by negligence, malicious acts or carelessness must be paid for in order to repair or replace the item of equipment damaged.

  • A booking is only accepted upon receipt of a completed booking form together with appropriate payment.

  • Anyone booking for a group must enclose each participant for records.

  • Balance of payment must be received 14 days prior to session,

  • Should you cancel your booking for any reason more than 14 days before the course commences, the initial deposit will be forfeited.

  • Should you cancel your booking for any reason 14 days or less than 14 days before your session commences then there will be no refunds and the full amount will be payable.​

  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parental adult. 

  • Any of the above conditions are subject to change and if changed I will inform participants as soon as practicable.​

Mountain Training 

Mountain Training Scotland Guidance 

People who are symptomatic should self-isolate for 7 days; household members for 14 days as per NHS guidance. 

Booking Process

  • When you make a booking with Element Activities you will be asked to declare you are fit for the activity.

  • Booking forms and contact details will be kept for 21days for COVID-19 track and trace procedures.

Activity Session 

  • Physical distancing must be practiced between households groups according to the Scottish Government Guidelines. 

  • You will meet in a place that is open and easy to avoid crowds and busy areas.

Personal Equipment

  • Any personal kit you bring with you please look after this and don't share between households. 

  • Only make contact with your own equipment or surfaces.

Hired Equipment 

  • Any hire equipment has been cleaned thoroughly or left for 72hours.

Getting Changed 

  • Due to facilities being limited we advise you have appropriate ways of getting changed by a vehicle with a towel robe or inside a vehicle. 

On The Water 

  • We aim to minimise close contact moments however, it must be acknowledged that we cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 transmission entirely.
